Through my professional experience and studying design and art at Central Washington University I have developed a unique sense of design – clean and creative. When beginning a design, I study the client's idea and propose what I feel to be the best way to communicate their message. The following are some examples of my work. All artwork (photographs, etc.) is original unless otherwise noted.
Packaging for National Geographic: Legendary Photographers Blu-ray Disc
National Geographic: Legendary photographers is an outstanding collection of imagery from some of the best National Geographic Photographers. My designs for this Blu-ray disc needed to capture the same elegance as this classic imagery. Below are the cover, insert, and disc for the upcoming Blu-ray release. Holiday Card Submission to CWU President
The President of Central Washington University asked my Design and Layout class to design a holiday card for the upcoming season. We were asked to make a card with all religions in mind, represent the season while staying away from cliché. I chose to photograph a well known bridge on campus, a wreath, and merge the two together in Photoshop. I felt that the bridge represented our diversity (handicap accessible) as well as the bridges we have crossed and are going to cross.

Fine Art Restoration
Often, when purchasing art from a major stock house, a designer can encounter several quality issues. This example, "A Walk in the Woods" by Henri Rousseau, needed drastic color correction. I researched the correct color by reviewing several different printed reproductions as well as visiting the web site of the Museum of Art (Kunsthaus Zurich) to ensure accurate color.

PowerPoint Backgrounds
During corporate events, how often do you see the same, bland PowerPoint theme? I feel it is essential for companies to visually distinguish themselves. In a world of PowerPoint presentations, it is important to graphically keep your audience interested.

Invitation project
This project was an exercise in typography. The illustrative elements in these invitations are enlarged letters, which create a flowing, graphical experience.

Western Family Salsa Label
I used Adobe Illustrator to construct this label. This project led me to re-design a "blah" Western Family label and give it a new, fun, look. I successfully conveyed that there is a chunk of Texas in every bottle. When designing this label I adhered to the strict guidelines for labeling set forth by the FDA.

IT Department poster submission to Central Washington University
This poster was designed to increase awareness about Central Washington University's Information Technology department. This campaign was developed after meeting with various public relations, media, and statician staff to fully understand what the University felt was important to communicate. In addition to creating imagery for this campaign, I was involved in copywriting, information research, and marketing the program to internal and external publics.

The Count of Monte Cristo
For this project I re-designed the classic Dumas tale The Count of Monte Cristo and gave it a sophisticated, elegant treatment. During the research stage of this project I studied previous covers and found that the majority of them were very cliché. My interpretation has successfully transcended the "box" while maintaining the look and feel appropriate to such a classic.
